UTStarcom Introduces Advanced Wireless Spectrum (AWS) Cellular Phone Product Line

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- UTStarcom Personal
Communications, a division of UTStarcom Inc. (Nasdaq: UTSI), announced today
the introduction of its first line of mobile handsets that can operate on the
new Advanced Wireless Spectrum (AWS) bandwidth.

AWS is a wireless telecommunications band that uses microwave frequencies
in two segments from 1710MHz to 755MHz and from 2110 MHz to 2155 MHz. AWS
allows wireless providers additional bandwidth to offer their customers faster
and more reliable network coverage including video, data and messaging
services for their mobile devices.

UTStarcom's AWS line consists of the CDM7126, CDM7176 and the CDM8076.
Following are brief descriptions of each device:

CDM7126

The CDM7126 is designed for those who simply want a voice phone. The
simple yet functional clamshell-style handset has 64MB Flash/32MB RAM that can
store up to 500 phonebook entries. Equipped with a 1.8' 65K Color CSTN
(127 x 160) main display screen, the WAP-enabled CDM7126 has a built-in
speakerphone, 72 chord polyphonic ringtones, text messaging capability and is
E911 supported. The compact CDM7126 measures 3.5' (h) x 1.8' (w) x 0.7' (d).

CDM7176

The Bluetooth(R)-enabled CDM7176 camera phone with flash is loaded with
many cool features including SMS/MMS for sending picture and video as well as
enhanced message service for sending sound and emoticons. The clamshell-style
CDM7176 also features a bright 1.8' 65K Color TFT (128 x 160) main display
screen and a one-inch Black & White (96 x 64) sub-display screen. With 64MB
Flash/32 MB RAM, the CDM7176 can store up to 500 phonebook entries. They
stylish CDM7176 has dimensions of 3.6' (h) x 1.9' (w) x 0.7' (d).

CDM8076

The CDM8076 camera phone comes in sleek and fashionable clamshell-style
form factor. It features enhanced messaging service for sending sound and
emoticons as well as MMS/SMS. The Bluetooth(R)-enabled CDM8076 has 256 MB
Flash/128 MB RAM. The CDM8076 is equipped with a 1.8' 65K Color TFT
(128 x 160) main display screen and a one-inch Black & White (96 x 64)
sub-display screen.
