UTStarcom to Speak on FMC and IPTV Panels at GlobalComm

ALAMEDA, Calif., May 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- UTStarcom, Inc.

and services, will participate in two panel discussions on fixed mobile
convergence (FMC) and IPTV in Asia at GlobalComm 2006. The show will take
place at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois, June 5-8.

Farshid Mohammadi, UTStarcom's general manager of the North America and
International Switching Business Unit, will speak on the 'Converged Networks
and IMS: Making High-Speed Data Applications Mobile,' panel, which is part of
the IEC Communication Forum at GlobalComm. The session will take place from
2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. CST on Wednesday, June 7. Mohammadi will discuss the
recent advances in convergence of networks that allow operators to leverage
existing network investments to deliver next-generation broadband services
across multiple access environments and devices. The panel will explore the
challenge of how to promptly create and communicate services and applications
that interoperate across multiple access environments.

Brian Caskey, vice president of worldwide marketing, will discuss 'IPTV in
Asia: Lessons Learned from Real Deployments in China and Japan' in the
GlobalComm Technologies and Standards Forum on Wednesday, June 7 at 2:40 p.m.

. Caskey will share UTStarcom's experiences in Asia from technologies and
network topologies with very-large-scale IPTV subscriber deployments.
