UTStarcom Announces Date of 2008 Annual Meeting
ALAMEDA, Calif., April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- UTStarcom, Inc.
(Nasdaq: UTSI) today announced that its 2008 Annual Meeting of Stockholders
will be held on Friday, June 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m., local time. The meeting
will be held at the Company's offices located at 1275 Harbor Bay Parkway,
Alameda, California 94502. Stockholders of record as of the close of business
on April 29, 2008 are entitled to notice of and vote at the 2008 Annual
Meeting.

Rule 14a-8 Stockholder Proposal Deadline
Pursuant to Rule 14a-8 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as
amended, UTStarcom previously set a deadline of
of any stockholder proposals submitted pursuant to Rule 14a-8 for inclusion in
UTStarcom's proxy materials for the 2008 Annual Meeting. As a result, the
deadline for the receipt of stockholder proposals under Rule 14a-8 has passed.
Bylaws Advance Notice Deadline
In accordance with the requirements for advance notice set forth in
UTStarcom's Bylaws, in order for (i) a stockholder proposal submitted outside
of Rule 14a-8 for consideration at the 2008 Annual Meeting or (ii) a director
nomination submitted by a stockholder for election at the 2008 Annual Meeting
to be considered timely, such proposal or nomination must be received at the
principal executive offices of the Company by close of business on
April 21, 2008
